The Witcher 3: Crime and Punishment walkthrough

Bit of a tricky one, this. Oh no, not the combat - the ehtical issues.

Your main trouble with the Crime and Punishment quest in The Witcher 3 is finding where to start it. After that, the quest itself is yet another short but simple side job that'll net Geralt some bonus EXP.

That said, the quest may be short, but it definitely provides some food for thought when it comes to the people of Skellige and how they choose to handle crime. If you need any help, here's our guide on how to complete the Crime and Punishment quest in The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3: Crime and Punishment walkthrough

The Crime and Punishment quest can be a bit difficult to trigger in The Witcher 3, as you have to track down a man chained to some rocks in a desolate stretch of cliff-lined coats. He's located north of the village of Rogne on Ard Skellig. You can sail there from the Ancient Crypt signpost, if you've unlocked that - just head around the coast to the east a bit to spot the icon.

Approach the scene and the young man explains that he's been framed for murder. You can elect to set him free - if you don't, you'll fail the quest and he'll die.

Finish off the quest by visiting Rogne and looking for a group of arguing villagers just north of the town centre. There's a little girl there who turns out to be the prisoner's sister. You can tell her you have freed her brother or say she's learned her lesson, as neither response will affect how the quest ends. The quest then resolves and you'll gain 10 XP.

If you're clearing up secondary quests, here's our Skellige secondary quest guide and Novigrad secondary quest guide.

Alternatively, if you fancy doing something else as Geralt for a bit, here's our The Witcher 3 guide and walkthrough to help you out.
